The braide spreads between the houses and the woods, in Moggio Udinese (UD): a large meadow inhabited by crickets, bees, ants and by thousands of other small insects, laid fallow, mowed twice a year, in summer and in autumn, to make hay for animals. Narrow paths with flattened grass wind all around, connecting private homes, community spaces and natural places. It is in this crossing and meeting place that Braide takes shape: a sound experiment in relational art, a weft of field recordings and oral memories that runs along the nature of the Friulian valleys with the curiosity and the wonder of a child.
Braide is a listening journey among the voices, sounds and songs of three generations. Made by the inhabitants of Moggio Udinese during an artistic residency as part of Ephemera. Festival di Cultura Immateriale 23. The listening time is approximately 18 minutes. Just about the time it takes to cross a meadow, a forest, or the braide. Listening tips: The best way to listen to Braide is with headphones, walking through a meadow or a park in your city or, even better, in the nearby countryside
